For hair salons

Foils in. It still books.

A call you can't take turns into a text the caller can answer. On Square Appointments Plus or Premium, StillBooked books the slot onto the right stylist's book. On anything else, you get the lead.

From $99/mo · No contracts · Nothing answers your phone

Illustrative walkthrough

StillBooked recovers missed calls, after-hours calls, and mid-service overflow for independent hair salons. It texts the caller back within seconds and, if you opt in, books the appointment into Square Appointments under the right stylist. Write-back needs Square Appointments Plus or Premium. On the free plan you get the text-back and the lead.

  1. Saturday, 11:00 AM

Three in chairs, one at the bowl, two on the bench

The caller gets a text before she hangs up on your voicemail.

  2. 2:35 PM, mid-color

Foils in, processing timer at twelve minutes, gloss mixing

She texts back 'root touch-up Thursday' and it's on Dani's book.

  3. 8:40 PM, after close

Chairs up, floor swept, phone on the desk

The booking is waiting in Square when you open.

Color doesn't pause for the phone

Saturday at a hair salon has its own physics. Three clients in chairs, one at the bowl, two on the bench, and a phone that will not stop. You know that ringing is money. You also know the client under your hands paid for your attention and is watching you in the mirror. So the phone loses. It rolls to voicemail, and most people calling a salon on a Saturday do not leave one. They hang up and call the place down the street. That's the leak. Not the calls you take badly, but the calls you never get to take at all, on the exact days you're busiest.

What the text says

StillBooked sits behind that missed call. When it rolls to voicemail, the caller gets a text back within seconds. Not a bot pretending to be a person, just a short message from your salon's name that says you're with a client and asks what they'd like to book. They reply with a service and a day. If you're on Square Appointments Plus or Premium, the slot goes straight onto the right stylist's book. If you're on the free Square plan, or on Booksy, Vagaro, or GlossGenius, the caller gets your booking link and you get the lead in a text. Either way, the person who called is no longer a mystery number in your missed-call log.

The moments you actually miss

It matters most during the services you can't step away from. Foils are in and the timer is running. A color is processing and you're mixing the gloss. You're halfway through a blowout with a round brush in one hand and a dryer in the other. Nobody expects you to stop and answer the phone in those moments, least of all the client in the chair. But the caller doesn't know that. All they hear is ringing. Text-back closes that gap without you touching anything. You finish the service. The conversation with the caller has already started, and often it has already finished with a slot on the book.

After hours is the quiet leak

After close is the other half. A lot of people book hair appointments the way they book everything else now: at night, on the couch, after the kids are down. They call at 8:40 PM, get nothing, and by morning they've moved on or forgotten. With text-back they get a reply right away, pick a time, and it's sitting in Square when you open up. You didn't check your phone once. If you'd rather approve each booking before it posts, turn that on. Quiet hours, which stylists accept text bookings, and which services can be booked by text are all yours to set.

Not a replacement for anyone

This isn't a pitch about replacing anyone. Your front-of-house person, if you have one, still runs the desk. Your stylists still talk to their own clients. StillBooked handles the one thing nobody in the building has hands free for: the call that rang while everyone was working. Plans start at $99 a month with no contract. If you're on Square Appointments Plus or Premium, the $199 plan writes bookings straight into your calendar. A 15-minute diagnosis call is how we figure out which one fits your salon, and whether either one fits at all.

How it works

Catch the call. Text them back. Book it.

  1. 01

    Catch

A call rings out. You're mid-service, or it's after close, or the desk is three deep.

  2. 02

    Text or book

Within seconds the caller gets a text from your business name, in wording you approved. They reply with what they want and when.

  3. 03

    Remind

A confirmation text goes to the client right away. A reminder goes out before the appointment.

Questions

Questions owners ask first

Can it book with a specific stylist?

Yes. On Square Appointments Plus or Premium, StillBooked books onto the stylist the caller asks for, or the stylist you've set as the default for that service. You can also keep individual stylists off text booking entirely.

What about color services that need a consultation first?

You decide which services can be booked by text. Mark color corrections or extensions as consult-first, and the caller is handed to you as a lead instead of being booked automatically.

We're on GlossGenius or Vagaro, not Square. Is this pointless?

No. For GlossGenius, Vagaro, and Booksy, StillBooked works as a text-back bridge: the caller gets your booking link by text and you get the lead. It does not write appointments into those calendars, so the $99 Text-Back plan is the fit.

Does it answer price questions like 'how much is a balayage'?

It does not quote prices on its own. The text-back can include a link to your menu, and anything the caller types is forwarded to you so you can answer between clients.
